Learn in this video, how to connect the optional ConnectedRide Cradle to your smartphone and use valuable functions of the BMW Motorrad Connected App. Make sure you have installed the BMW Motorrad Connected App. Open the BMW Motorrad Connected App, click on “Connectivity Hub”, then “Connect New Device”. Select your Cradle – and “Connect”. A confirmation that the connection is established is displayed. Insert your smartphone with the long side touching the top of the ConnectedRide cradle. Make sure the arms hold the smartphone into place. The cradle supports wireless charging via the QI standard. Charging via cable is possible as well. Press and hold the MENU Rocker Switch up to switch the control from the TFT Display to the BMW Motorrad Connected App. Controlling the Connected App works similar to controlling the TFT Display. Turn the Multi Controller to navigate through the menu. Tilt the Multi Controller right to select an app feature – like navigation or to zoom in the map. Tilting right in map view, you can access navigation features like entering a destination. Standing still, you can use your smartphone via touch as well, for example to enter an address.

Installation issue on my R1300GS. Despite pressing during 2 seconds the “menu button” i can not continue the demo screen…
Nope, the ConnectedRide Device sees and connects to my phone but the app never does. Tried it over and over. The largest problem with the "Connected Ride" Device is ironically, it doesn't connect, not to computers, not to apps. Been fighting with it for weeks to get a route into it… and I'm kind of a nerd. Can't use the SD card because my EU maps are in there.
Thank you!
using bmw's useless nav is just ridiculous in 2024, isn't it? move to something more reliable as maps and so on and so on and put it in this cradle. you'll do yourself a big favour.
Hi @bmwmotorad. I have an issue with my connected ride app voice navigation. My voice guide inside the Connected Ride app is speeded up so that I can not understand anything when approaching the manoeuver spot.
How do I remove the cradle?
I ❤ the bmw cradle! Had a cheap Chinese holder before, no comparison
Do you plan to eliminate the black bar on the left? Too much space wasted..
Is the cradle has vibration dampener?
I am stuck where it says press menu button for 2 seconds, my bike does not have the menu button? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a 2014 R1200GS Adventure with nav prep. Better instructions would be beneficial as the is barely any information available for older motorcycles without tft. I paid a lot of money and really would like to be able to use the cradle!
Very unatable connection. Every time i switch off the bike I must restart the app and connect the device with the bike manually…. If not – it doesnt connect automatically….
Cradle control doesn t work on my S1000r/2021. I can push the menu button for 1hour to switch the command to the cradle via wheel, but no reaction…
Question… if you pair your phone with the mount, how will it then be able to pair with the TFT screen for music streaming etc. Currently i have the phone paired to the TFT and then the TFT to the PackTalk.
I bought it for my R1250 2019.. but there is option to switch between dash and cradle with menu button, does that only work with 2021?
Is it sure that it won't destroy the camera of my iphone?
BMW。一流の企業だと思う。ユーザーの使いやすさを考え提案している。日本は先進に欠けてる。BMWは凄い。
Qi standard with a maximum of 7.5 W or wired via a USB-C connection with a maximum of 7.5 W (1.5 A at 5 V)
Damm and still they can't make a product of this time where 2.4A is standard with cable

What BMW article for Motorrad Cradle on 0:44 ?
have no china map in connect app
connects to R1250 GS model ?
Is is posibile to use other Navigation apps like Waze and google maps?
Volume control only works if you have the Sena/BMW helmet system and the wireless charger doesn’t work with iPhone 12 & 13. BMW won’t tell you this ahead of time.
And how to installation to f900xr?My app can’t see the monitor.
Und weil es den Navigator ersetzen soll, wird es wohl auch mindestens so viel kosten wie ein halber Navigator…..👎
Will you plan to add support for landscape view of your App ?
😍😍👍👍
Does it vibrate
This will work with new and older bike models that have the wonder wheel and also the NAV prep. The original NAV prep is necessary to power/charge and control your phone from the wonder wheel. The new mount has built in Bluetooth to connect with your apple or android phone, turning it into a virtual BMW Navigator. fools the bike into thinking the original BMW Garmin GPS is installed. You pair your phone to the new mount, start the BMW app on your phone, then use the wonder wheel on the bars just like you would with the old BMW Garmin nav unit. I suspect BMW is moving away from the Garmin device in favor of GPS integration on the new models, and this was designed so legacy users had something to fall back on when they cant procure the Garmin made device.
Does it work in 2016 GS with non-TFT screens? (Please, please, please)
I assume it only works on bmw bikes with tft? and not previous analog gen tachometer. Also how does it work with phone cases?
what in the rain when the smartphone is in the cradle?
why can't i connect it to f900xr?
finally we can waste a Garmin Nav!!!!!
Sehr schön, wann kann man den Cradle käuflich erwerben, und was wird er kosten?
Great to see! Now I can retire the nav6… is there a partnumber please?
W końcu coś sensownego. Kiedy dostępne?
