Crazy heavy, very complicated vario mechanisms take up valuable space, with liner bags space is even less. Fine for around town but if you're touring invest in proper top loading aluminum ADV luggage
they still have issues with this pannier system, none available anywhere due to global recall. they say it will be fixed by June 2025 !!
Question please. When closing the pannier lid as per movie the guy gives a gentle close. If you push the pannier lid after this type of close and Push where it says “Push” an audible click is heard. What in mechanical terms is happening here? Note the manual also reiterates p239 quote “Closing Cases”, “Close the case lid. Make sure the case lid engages with an audible click at both sides.”
Shame BMW decided to make sure that riders have get these instead of a choice of using panniers off the 1250

The charger in the pannier is a great idea.
Looks like a great update, makes more storage space as the vario mechanism is smaller and the large metal bar on the previous vario luggage is gone.
Do BMW solve the problems with the vario system? There no more available in the configuration of the 1300? And how do you solve it with the people who have problems with these cases? Regards Bart
